123Bead November 2007 Newsletter
I’ve gotten a lot of peacock related e-mail since posting pictures in the last newsletter, and most of them asked for updates and new photos! The peacock is still here, and is likely to stay at this point. We still don’t know if it is a peacock or a peahen. My opinion is that its a he, while Eric remains convinced that its a she. In any case – this friendly clown of a bird has been growing at a remarkable rate, and seems rather disappointed that he’s too large now to sit on Owen’s shoulder for “story-time”. But he finds sitting on someone’s lap for story-time to be an acceptable compromise.
I’ve been around birds for the last twelve years, but they’ve always been parrots (my dear pets), and song birds from our time as wildlife rehabbers. Having a close associate with a “yard bird” (as our neighbor calls them) has been an eye-opening and exciting experience! There is such intelligence in his smoky blue eyes, and he has such an affectionate personality. The “peabrain” now has his own webpage, with a few new pictures:

In the mean time, wishing you all a safe and joyous Thanksgiving holiday, and as ever – happy beading!
