It’s that time of the year, and I’m stocking up on calendars and almanacs for 2011. We have Jen Delyth’s gorgeous mini and full size Celtic Mandala calender, plus her fabulous datebook (I use mine about a million times every day!). We also have many of Llewellyn’s most popular calendar, almanac and datebook titles – a must for planning your magical workings.
I have a couple others on order – check back in early September for the last of the 2011 designs.

Dhara is a Sanskrit word meaning the planet earth. It is a leap, I know, but Dhara just feels right for these earrings, which have an Indian style bead cap cradling a luminous cats eye bead. These vintage-style earrings use beautifully antiqued solid brass components.

Delissea is a member of the Hawaiian Bellflower family, and although the flower really bears no resemblance to these beads, I couldn’t resist such a beautiful name for these glass bellflower earrings. Accented with metal findings and a hint of sparkle from aurora borealis finished Swarovski crystals, these gorgeous flower drops hang from dramatic, over-sized kidney wires.
These earrings can be made with traditional silver or gold accents and findings, or with vintage-look antique brass or gunmetal components.

We have three new styles available in our Celtic Cookie Stamp Collection. Our glazed stoneware stamp measures about 1.5″ tall and 2″ in diameter. Just press into a ball of cookie dough before baking – the cookie stamp design bakes into tops of cookies.
With each cookie stamp, you’ll receive a free recipe booklet. This lovely booklet includes instructions for use and care, plus eight delicious recipes perfect for use with the cookie press. (The unbelievable peanut butter cookies are fantastic!) This booklet also includes tips on how to use the cookie press for clay casting or paper casting!
It is a rainy, soggy day here in Virginia today – a great day for baking cookies!

Oberon Design has been one of my favorite suppliers, almost since the beginning of Lytha Studios. One evening, over 12 years ago, Eric and I were browsing the Virginia Tech Bookstore when we came across a beautiful Celtic leather journal which we promptly purchased. The next day, I put on my detective hat, and tracked down the manufacturer. Two weeks later, we had our opening selection of journals in our shop!
Years later, and we can’t help but look back and say that Oberon was one of our luckiest finds. Of course we still carry their journals, and their beautifully worked (and made in America) pewter jewelry has been a customer favorite for years. To top it off, we have new hair clips and pendants just in time for the holidays.

The Celts perceived the presence of divine forces in all aspects of nature. Patterns of harmony and balance, dark and light, winter and summer, female and male, are woven throughout Celtic tradition. Celtic knots and patterning reflect their belief in the continuity of life, the interconnection of all things: plants, animals and otherworldly divinities.
Our Celtic Mandala 2010 wall calendars and datebook present the magical weavings of Welsh artist Jen Delyth in calendar form. Jen’s work is founded in her deep connection to her Celtic heritage. She creates intricate drawings then collages them with her nature photography, further symbolizing the connection to the natural world.

Our new line of refillable leather “Icon” journals from Oberon Design offers a spare, iconic aesthetic with all the elements of quality and durability intrinsic to our classic leather journals. For ease of ordering, the Icon journal is the same 6 x 9 inch size as our large journal and utilizes the same book insert.
In addition to our new line of Icon journals, we also have six new “Classic” designs available.
We also have several new hair clips from Oberon! These lovely barrettes are cast from lead-free pewter, with high quailty French clips (the good, one-piece ones from France). These clips are very detailed and intricate – extremely high quality!

Just in time for holiday gifting, I have several new pieces of jewelry, including an astonishing line from artist Maxine Miller. Her Scottish Thistle brooch, pictured right, is an absolutely stunning design. I have several other pieces of hers now, and I can’t wait to see more!
In addition to the Celtic designs by Maxine Miller, I have other new sterling Celtic designs this week, including a gorgeous, intricate Tree of Life pendant, a lovely rainbow moonstone Celtic slider, an amethyst or garnet inset Celtic knotwork necklace, and several others.
And finally, I have several new pieces from Gabriele Masill from Windrose Trading Company – a lovely Victorian style rainbow moonstone pendant, and a symbolically rich Om pendant inset with moonstone and amethyst.

Karen Kerney’s beautiful “Wonder” design has been our most popular solstice card for seven or eight years now. The manufacturer does not produce them as part of their catalog anymore, but they do a massive print run exclusively for Lytha Studios every year so that we can continue to offer these beautiful cards! We’ve always sold them with a holiday greeting inside, and this year, we’re proud and happy to offer them blank inside, too.

My whole life has been one big obsession with color. As a younger lady, I made embroidery floss bracelets by the barrel full, and had more colors than DMC! My Chemistry teacher was inundated with purple and green inked lab reports. Bob Ross was (and still is) my hero!
I’m still a glutton for color. And I couldn’t pass up the chance to add these fabulous Marvy® Terra Cotta pens to my collection and to my store.
These new indoor and outdoor markers are a fabulous way to bring distinction and color to your terra cotta garden pots, unglazed tiles, and more. They’re great on pottery, wood, plaster statues, most foam products, stone, canvas and more.
The opaque water-based pigmented acrylic paint is lightfast, odorless, water resistant, acid-free and non-toxic. Be sure to sure your markers horizontally to keep them from drying up. 6mm tip.

Windrose is best known for their fantastic incense, but they do so much more! Fabulous soapstone diffusers and decor, gorgeous sterling jewelry, and other enchanting gifts with a Native American or Eastern theme.
India’s busy textile industry leaves behind a large amount of cotton scraps (from new materials). Recently, Windrose has introduced a new line of Tree-Free “Eco-Diaries”. The paper for these unique diaries is made from these recycled fabric scraps. All of these diaries are hand-painted with inspiring images; some diaries are covered with vintage papers. Windrose Eco-Diaries are environmentally friendly and wood free, using the renewable resource of cotton fiber. For some reason, I was immediately drawn to the Peacock Eco-Diary, but the Tree of Life, Cosmic Om, and others also caught my eye.

Uma Silbey’s jewelry is unique! She always incorporates semi-precious gems in her designs – whether it is a spot of color in a glowing cabochon, or an entire carved crystal wrapped with sterling to create something magical. Her designs are unpretentious and downright whimsical. They are “happy” pieces – they always put a smile on my face, and just make me feel good!

The price of sterling is through the roof right now, but fortunately the price of pewter stays fairly constant, and our extensive line of Excelsior Pewter jewelry may help ease the pain to your checkbook. But don’t let that be the only reason you look at this jewelry!
Our Excelsior Pewter jewelry is phenomenal! It is made in American by skilled craftspeople, and the attention to detail and form is amazing. The pieces are solid and heavier than their sterling counterparts. Each design is filled with symbolism, history and myth, and each piece comes with a card explaining the lore and history of the design.
For our newest Excelsior pewter designs, click here. There are several hundred (older) designs listed through-out the website.

Our sterling aromatherapy lockets have a “pocket” in the back that can hold a bit of cotton ball, imbued with a few drops of your favorite essential oil, chakra oil, or perfume. Your skin will gently warm the locket as you wear it, slowly releasing the applied fragrance. For our complete selection of lockets – click here.
When I was a young lady – I had a locket like this, and oh – how I loved it. We didn’t have essential oils or aromatherapy supplies in the house, but I felt so special with a few drops of my mother’s perfume on the locket liner. Nostalgia hits – I feel as though I ought to go buy a bottle of “Toujours Moi” perfume for my new locket…
