Awareness Key Rings

Heart & Ribbon Key Ring

This lovely, easy project is made with a large pink cat's eye heart bead, a gorgeous pewter ribbon, and assorted findings. You'll need a basic understanding of wire wrapping techniques to complete this project.

Please review the "techniques" pages below as they show you how to complete both steps of this project.

Parts Needed:

1 Pink 25mm Cat's Eye Heart
1 Awareness Ribbon Charm
1 6mm Rosaline Crystal Pearl
1 2" Sterling Silver Headpin
1 1.5" Sterling Silver Headpin
1 5mm Pewter Bead Cap
1 25mm Key Ring

Tools for Wire wrapping

First - stack the bead cap and heart bead on the 2" headpin, form a loop and wire wrap it shut. Now you have the heart-charm finished.

Next - put the crystal pearl onto the 1.5" headpin. Form a larger than average loop with your round nose pliers. Put the ribbon charm and the heart-charm loop through the loop you just made (as shown in the picture). Then wire wrap the loop closed. Attach the heart-charm loop to the keyring, and the project is finished!

Angel Key Ring

Another easy derivative is to attach a beaded angel headpin charm to the keyring. For instructions on creating these charms - click here.
